After spending more than 25 years with the OAA across two stints, Gail Hanselman—Administrator, Certificate of Practice—retired at the end of September.
Gail first joined the OAA in October of 1981, working with the Association for a half-decade before returning in 2001 to a position in the Office of the Registrar. For more than 20 years, she has provided diligent, dedicated service to both the members of the profession and the public. Gail’s role focused on all matters related to Certificates of Practice as well as Discipline and Registration judicial proceedings. Even if you did not meet or speak with Gail directly, you may recognize her name from several emails over the years.
Throughout her tenure, Gail has helped numerous registrars and other OAA staff by both providing institutional knowledge and continuity, as well as quickly adapting to changing rules and practices within the regulation of the profession. She is extremely well-regarded and respected by her former colleagues at the OAA, and known for her attention to detail and quick wit.
